Black July Remembrance Day: Meeting to analyze impact of Sri Lanka government’s land grab atrocities

As part of the Black July Remembrance day, Canadian Tamil Congress has organized a meeting to protest and analyze impact of Sri Lanka government’s land grab atrocities.

The meeting and forum is scheduled to be held on Monday, July 23rd 2012 : 6.30 pm at the Scarborough Civic Centre. (150 Borough Drive, Scarborough)

Sri Lankan government has embarked on unprecedented activities to grab land from rightful Tamil land owners of the North and Eastern provinces. The atrocities are causing extreme hardship, impacting livelihood and breaching on basic human rights of the Tamil community.

Sri Lanka Campaign for Peace and Justice Founder and Federal NDP Member of Parliament Prof. Craig Scott, Windsor University’s Prof. Cheran and Tamil National Alliance Canada President Mr. Nakkeeran Thangavelu will deliver speeches to analyze the impact of land grab issues and participate in discussions with the audience.

Canadian Tamil Congress invites and encourages Greater Toronto’s Tamil community to participate in this year’s Black July remembrance day event.
