Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) supports project to strengthen women’s income in the Batticaloa district to mark the 16th year May Remembrance.
As part of Canadian Tamil Congress ‘s commitments for 16th year May remembrance, CTC in collaboration with the Women’s Needs Advocacy Network (NewArow), has launched a meaningful new initiative to support women in Sri Lanka’s war affected North and East.
This project provides training in handloom weaving and moringa cultivation empowering women affected by war and poverty with the skills and tools to build sustainable livelihoods and achieve financial independence.
On June 15, 2025, the project donation was handed over to the coordinator of the Women’s Needs Advocacy Network, Mrs. Rudradevi Ravi, by CTC Secretary Piragal Thiru and CTC Humanitarian Project Coordinator for Sri Lanka, Thusyanthan R. Thirairatnam This marked the beginning of a project rooted in hope, resilience, and dignity.
