TORONTO, ON – Following the incredible success of our very first event last year, we are thrilled to invite you to the Toronto Tamil Book Fair (TTBF) 2026, happening this October 24 and 25, 2026. This year, our preliminary preparations are already moving fast to bring you an experience that goes much deeper into the heart of who we are.

This book fair is a truly historic milestone because it is a joint initiative born from a powerful partnership between the Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) and the United Sri Lankan Muslim Council of Canada (USLMCC). We are joining hands across geographic and cultural lines to unite Sri Lankan Tamils, Indian Tamils, and Tamil-speaking Muslim communities on a single, shared platform. As Tamil speaking people living in every corner of the globe, we carry a profound legacy. Our language is not just a tool to communicate; it is one of the oldest living oral and written traditions in human history; a vast, timeless ocean of knowledge, wisdom, and resilience. When we read, we don’t just turn pages; we strengthen how we think, change how we see the world, and pass down a rich history. This fair is our collective space to celebrate that history together, turning casual readers into passionate ones, and inspiring non-readers to take up the book.

We are shaking things up for 2026 with fresh, exciting updates that make this fair about much more than browsing vendor stalls. This year is all about real conversations, shared love for literature, and global perspectives. We are introducing live panel debates and hosting incredible international speakers to talk about where our literature is heading. We are also shining a major spotlight on global connections, featuring books by Tamil authors written in other languages, research papers, and brilliant works translated both into and out of Tamil. Most importantly, we want to hear the voices that shape our future, which is why we are actively prioritizing, uplifting, and encouraging our women writers and young, emerging authors this year.

If you are an author or publisher, this is your stage. We are officially opening doors for global talent to launch their work right here in Toronto. Following a selective review process, exactly ten (10) books will get the exclusive opportunity to host their official release live at the fair. We warmly encourage authors, researchers, and global publishing houses to contact us immediately to pitch their work, with more entry guidelines coming very soon.

This is our language, our literature, and our book fair. We expect readers, creators, and publishers from all over the world to join us in Toronto this October to make it an unforgettable success. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for our upcoming venue and schedule updates.

டொரோண்டோ, ஒன்டாரியோ – கடந்த ஆண்டு எமது முதலாவது நிகழ்வின் மாபெரும் வெற்றியைத் தொடர்ந்து, எதிர்வரும் 2026 அக்டோபர் 24 மற்றும் 25 ஆகிய திகதிகளில் நடைபெறவுள்ள ‘டொரோண்டோ தமிழ் புத்தக அரங்கம் (TTBF) 2026’ நிகழ்விற்கு உங்களை அன்போடு அழைக்கிறோம். நமது அடையாளத்தின் ஆழத்தை உங்களுக்குக் கொண்டு சேர்க்கும் வகையில், இந்த ஆண்டிற்கான முதற்கட்ட ஆயத்தப் பணிகள் ஏற்கனவே மிக வேகமாக நகர்ந்து வருகின்றன.

இந்த புத்தக அரங்கம் ஒரு வரலாற்று மைல்கல்லாகும். ஏனெனில், இது கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை (CTC) மற்றும் ஐக்கிய இலங்கை முஸ்லிம் பேரவை – கனடா (USLMCC) ஆகிய இரு அமைப்புகளின் வலுவான கூட்டாண்மையில் உருவான ஒரு கூட்டு முயற்சியாகும். இலங்கைத் தமிழர்கள், இந்தியத் தமிழர்கள் மற்றும் தமிழ் பேசும் முஸ்லிம் சமூகங்களை ஒரே மேடையில் ஒன்றிணைக்க, புவியியல் மற்றும் கலாச்சார எல்லைகளைக் கடந்து நாம் கைகோர்த்துள்ளோம். உலகெங்கும் வாழும் தமிழ் பேசும் மக்களாகிய நாம், ஒரு மிகச்சிறந்த பாரம்பரியத்தைச் சுமந்து நிற்கிறோம். நமது மொழி வெறும் தகவல் தொடர்புக்கான கருவி மட்டுமல்ல; அது மனித வரலாற்றின் மிகப்பழமையான, இன்னும் வாழும் வாய்மொழி மற்றும் எழுத்துப்பூர்வ மரபுகளில் மூத்த மொழியென்ற பெருமையை கொண்டுள்ளது. தமிழ் அறிவு, ஞானம் மற்றும் மீளெழுச்சி ஆகியவற்றின் எல்லையற்ற பெருங்கடல். நாம் வாசிக்கும் போது, வெறும் பக்கங்களை மட்டும் திருப்புவதில்லை; நமது சிந்தனையை வலுப்படுத்துகிறோம், உலகைப் பார்க்கும் பார்வையை மாற்றுகிறோம், மேலும் நமது வளமான வரலாற்றை அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்குக் கடத்துகிறோம். சாதாரண வாசகர்களைத் தீவிர வாசகர்களாக மாற்றவும், வாசிக்காதவர்களைப் புத்தகங்களை நோக்கி ஈர்க்கவும், நமது வரலாற்றை ஒன்றாகக் கொண்டாடவும் எமது இந்த புத்தக அரங்கம் ஒரு தளமாக அமையும்.

விற்பனையாளர்களின் அரங்குகளைத் தாண்டி, இந்த 2026 நிகழ்வை அதிகப் பயனுள்ளதாக மாற்றப் புதிய மற்றும் உற்சாகமான மாற்றங்களைக் கொண்டு வரவுள்ளோம். இந்த ஆண்டு நேரடி விவாதங்கள், இலக்கியத்தின் மீதான பகிர்வுகள் மற்றும் உலகளாவிய பார்வைகளுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் அளிக்கப்படும். நேரடி பட்டிமன்றங்கள் மற்றும் கலந்துரையாடல்களை அறிமுகப்படுத்துவதுடன், நமது இலக்கியத்தின் எதிர்காலப் போக்கு குறித்துப் பேசப் புகழ்பெற்ற சர்வதேச பேச்சாளர்களையும் அழைக்க உள்ளோம். மேலும் பிற மொழிகளில் எழுதப்பட்ட தமிழ் எழுத்தாளர்களின் புத்தகங்கள், ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகள், மற்றும் தமிழுக்குள்ளும் தமிழிலிருந்து பிற மொழிகளுக்கும் மொழிபெயர்க்கப்பட்ட சிறந்த படைப்புகளைக் காட்சிப்படுத்தி உலகளாவிய தொடர்புகளுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் அளிக்கவுள்ளோம். எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலாக, நமது எதிர்காலத்தை வடிவமைக்கும் குரல்களுக்கு முன்னுரிமை அளிக்க விரும்புகிறோம். அந்தவகையில் இந்த ஆண்டு பெண் எழுத்தாளர்களையும், இளம் மற்றும் வளர்ந்து வரும் எழுத்தாளர்களையும் ஊக்குவித்து, அவர்களுக்கு முதன்மை மேடை வழங்கவுள்ளோம்.

நீங்கள் ஒரு எழுத்தாளராகவோ அல்லது பதிப்பாளராகவோ இருந்தால் இது உங்களுக்கான மேடை. உலகளாவிய திறமையாளர்கள் தங்களின் படைப்புகளை இங்கேயே டொராண்டோவில் வெளியிடுவதற்கான கதவுகளை அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாகத் திறக்கிறோம். முறையான பரிசீலனைத் தேர்விற்குப் பிறகு பத்து (10) புத்தகங்களுக்கு இந்த அரங்கில் தங்களின் அதிகாரப்பூர்வ வெளியீட்டு விழாவை நேரலையாக நடத்தும் பிரத்யேக வாய்ப்பு வழங்கப்படும். இதற்கான விரிவான வழிகாட்டுதல்கள் விரைவில் வெளியிடப்படும். எனவே, எழுத்தாளர்கள், ஆராய்ச்சியாளர்கள் மற்றும் உலகளாவிய பதிப்பகங்கள் தங்களின் படைப்புகளைச் சமர்ப்பிக்க உடனடியாக எங்களைத் தொடர்பு கொள்ளுமாறு அன்புடன் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம்.
