The Executive Director of the Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC), Danton Thurairajah, along with former CTC Board Director Suresh Muththiah, paid a courtesy call on the Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Isabelle Martin. The meeting took place on March 19, 2026, at Canada House in Colombo. During the discussion, the newly appointed High Commissioner was briefed on various initiatives undertaken by the CTC across the Northern, Eastern, and Upcountry regions of Sri Lanka. The delegation also sought Canada’s support for the return of Tamil refugees currently residing in India who have expressed interest in resettling in their homeland.
