Canadian Tamil Assembly completely denies false unproof information about economic efforts being made for “victim Tamil people” in Sri Lanka

இலங்கையில் “பாதிக்கப்பட்ட தமிழ் மக்களுக்காக” மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுவரும் பொருளாதார முயற்சிகள் குறித்துப் பரப்பப்படும் தவறான ஆதாரமற்ற தகவல்களைக் கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை முற்றிலும் மறுக்கிறது
கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை (CTC) இந்த அறிக்கையை வெளியிடுவதன் மூலம், இலங்கையின் வடக்கு மற்றும் கிழக்குப் பகுதிகளில் எங்களது பொருளாதார அபிவிருத்தி முயற்சிகள் தொடர்பாகச் சமூக ஊடகங்களில் பரவும் ஆதாரமற்ற குற்றச்சாட்டுகள் மற்றும் தீங்கிழைக்கும் தவறான தகவல்களை முற்றிலுமாக மறுக்கிறது.

வடக்கு கிழக்கு பொருளாதார அபிவிருத்தி மையத்துடன் (NEED Centre) இணைந்து, கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை பாதிக்கப்பட்ட சமூகங்களுக்கு நிலையான பொருளாதாரத்தை உருவாக்கும் தனது பணியில் உறுதியாக நிற்கிறது.
இந்த முயற்சியின் முக்கிய அங்கமாகக், கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவையின் நிதியுதவியில் வடக்கு கிழக்கு அபிவிருத்தி மையம் நடைமுறைப்படுத்தும் “முல்லைத்தீவில் தயாரானது” (Made in Mullaitivu) என்ற திட்டம், போரினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட பகுதிகளில் உள்ள உள்ளூர் உற்பத்தியாளர்கள் பொருளாதார சுதந்திரத்தைப் பெறவும், தங்கள் உற்பத்திகளை மேம்படுத்தவும் உதவும் ஒரு அர்ப்பணிப்பான தளமாகச் செயற்படுகிறது.

இதன் அடிப்படையில், “முல்லைத்தீவில் தயாரானது” (Made in Mullaitivu) என்ற பெயரில் அதிகாரப்பூர்வமாக இரண்டு விற்பனை நிலையங்கள் மட்டுமே உள்ளன என்பதைத் தெளிவுபடுத்த விரும்புகிறோம்.

ஒரு விற்பனை நிலையம் முல்லைத்தீவு நகரத்தில் புதிய பேருந்து நிலைய வளாகத்திற்கு அருகில் அமைந்துள்ளது.
இரண்டாவது முறிகண்டியில் (A9 வீதி) அமைந்துள்ள உள்ளூர் உற்பத்திப் பொருட்களுக்கான காட்சிசாலை மற்றும் விற்பனை நிலையம் ஆகும்.

சமீபத்தில் பரவும் வதந்திகள், கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை “அங்கயற்கண்ணி” என்ற உணவகத்தைக் கையகப்படுத்தியதாகப் பொய்களைக் கூறுகின்றன.

“அங்கயற்கண்ணி உணவகம்” என்பது முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டத்தில் வேறோர் இடத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள முற்றிலும் வேறுபட்ட உணவகமாகும். கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவைக்கும் இந்த “அங்கயற்கண்ணி” உணவகத்திற்கும் எந்தவிதமான தொடர்புகளும் இல்லை.

முறிகண்டி என்ற இடத்தில், உள்ள “முல்லைத்தீவில் தயாரானது (Made in Mullaitivu)” காட்சிசாலை, அரியாத்தை சைவ உணவகத்துடன் இடத்தைப் பகிர்ந்துகொள்கிறது. மற்றும் A9 வீதியில் சுத்தமான “கழிப்பிட வசதிகள்” சேவையை இயக்குகிறது. எனினும், இந்த “அரியாத்தை உணவகம்” சுயாதீனமாக இயங்குகிறது.

கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவையும், வடக்கு கிழக்கு அபிவிருத்தி மையமும், “Made in Mullaitivu” என்ற உள்ளூர் உற்பத்தியாளர்களின் காட்சிசாலை உள்ளடங்கிய விற்பனை நிலையத்துக்கு மட்டுமே பொறுப்பு. அந்த இடத்தில் இயங்கும் அரியாத்தை உணவகத்துடன் அவற்றுக்கு எவ்வித உரிமையும் இல்லை.

முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள அங்கயற்கண்ணி உணவகம் உட்பட அனைத்து அரியாத்தை உணவகங்களும், முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டச் செயலகத்தால் நிர்வகிக்கப்படுகின்றன அல்லது ஒருங்கிணைக்கப்படுகின்றன.

பல வருட மூலோபாய திட்டமிடலாலும், நமது தாயகத்தில் உண்மையாக அக்கறை கொண்டவர்களின் கடும் உழைப்பினாலும் இந்தத் திட்டங்கள் நடைமுறைப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன.

சிலர் திரைக்குப் பின்னால் ஒளிந்திருந்துகொண்டு இத்தகைய மக்கள் நலன்புரித் திட்டங்களை அழிக்கும் சொகுசுப் பாதையைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும்போது, மற்றவர்கள் தரையில் இறங்கி கடின உழைப்புடன் மக்களுக்கான அபிவிருத்தித் திட்டங்களைக் கட்டமைக்கிறார்கள் என்பது கசப்பான உண்மை.

பொய்களைப் புனைந்து, உணர்ச்சி ஊட்டி உசுப்பேற்றலைப் பரப்புபவர்கள் எதையும் உருவாக்கும் பார்வையோ திறனோ இல்லாதவர்கள் என்பது தெளிவு.

அவர்களின் செயல்கள், தாங்கள் பிரதிநிதித்துவப்படுத்துவதாகக் கூறும் மக்களின் வாழ்வாதாரத்தை நேரடியாகச் சீர்குலைக்கும் முயற்சியாகும்.

உள்ளூர் உற்பத்தியாளர்களுக்குச் சந்தை கிடைப்பது, வறிய குடும்பங்கள் நிலைத்தன்மை பெறுவது, போரால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட மக்களின் பொருளாதாரம் மேம்படுதல் போன்றவற்றால் துன்புறும் மக்களின் வாழ்க்கை மாற்றம் அடைவதை நேரில் காணும் தாக்கத்தால் நாங்கள் உந்தப்படுகிறோம்.

உரிய முடிவுகளே எங்களுக்குத் தேவையான ஒரே சான்று.

எமது சமூகத்தினர் மிகுந்த விழிப்புணர்வுடன் இருக்க வேண்டுமென்று கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறோம். இந்தப் பொய்யான கதைகள் உண்மையில் மக்களின் முன்னேற்றத்தைத் தடுக்கும் முயற்சிகள் என்பதை அடையாளம் காணுமாறு பொதுமக்களுக்கு வலியுறுத்துகிறோம்.

கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை அழிப்பவர்களுக்கு முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்காது. உருவாக்குபவர்களுக்கு உறுதுணை புரிவதில் உறுதியாக நிற்கிறது. எமது மக்களின் பொருளாதார மேம்பாட்டிற்கான எமது அர்ப்பணிப்பு அசைக்க முடியாதது. நமது தாயகத்திற்கு நிலையான மற்றும் வளமான எதிர்காலத்தை உறுதி செய்யத் தொடர்ந்து அயராது உழைப்போம்.

Canadian Tamil Congress Categorically Refutes Baseless Misinformation Regarding Economic Initiatives in Sri Lanka
May 12, 2026 –

The Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) is issuing this formal statement to categorically refute the baseless allegations and malicious misinformation currently circulating on social media regarding our economic development initiatives in the North and East of Sri Lanka. In partnership with the North East Economic Development (NEED) Centre, CTC remains steadfast in its mission to build economic sustainability for vulnerable communities.

A vital part of this effort is the “Made in Mullaitivu” project, funded by the CTC and implemented in the ground by the NEED Centre, serves as a dedicated platform for local producers in war-affected regions to gain financial independence and promote their products. We wish to clarify that there are only two official “Made in Mullaitivu” outlets:
Mullaitivu Town: Located adjacent to the new bus stand complex.

Murikandy (A9 Road): A showroom and sales centre for locally produced goods.

Recent rumors have falsely claimed that CTC has taken over the restaurant named “Ankayatkanni” which is a completely different restaurant located at a different location in Mullaitivu district. CTC has absolutely nothing to do with this “Ankayatkanni” restaurant.

At the Murikandy location, the “Made in Mullaitivu” showroom shares a physical space with an Ariyathai Vegetarian Restaurant and operates a clean washroom service on the A9 road. However, this Ariyathai restaurant is independently operated within this Murikndy location. CTC and NEED Centre is responsible solely for the Made in Mullaitivu local producers’ showroom and sales centre and holds no ownership in the Ariyathai restaurant within this Murikandy location. All other Ariyathai restaurant locations in the Mullaitivu district including this Angayarkanni restaurant is managed or coordinated by the Mullaitivu District Secretariat.

The establishment of these projects is the hard-earned result of years of strategic planning and the collective sweat of those who truly care for our homeland. It is a stark reality that while some choose the easy path of sitting behind a screen to destroy, others are on the ground doing the grueling work of building. Those who spend their time crafting lies and spreading emotional manipulation clearly lack the vision or the capability to create anything of value themselves. Their actions are a direct attempt to sabotage the very livelihoods of the people they claim to represent.

We are motivated by the real, life-changing impact we see every day: local producers finally having a marketplace, families gaining stability, and a war-torn economy beginning to heal. These tangible results are the only validation we need. We urge our community to be fiercely vigilant and to recognize these false narratives for what they are a desperate attempt to hinder progress. CTC stands firm in its resolve. We will not be deterred by those who prefer to tear down rather than build up. Our commitment to the economic empowerment of our people is unshakable, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for our homeland.
