Canadian Tamil Congress Supports Upcountry Singer Ashani with Laptop Donation

In an inspiring act of community support, the Canadian Tamil Congress is thrilled to share the story of Ashani Kanakaraj, a remarkably talented young singer from the upcountry of Sri Lanka. Facing challenges due to limited resources, Ashani’s journey is a testament to her resilience and determination.

Ashani requested a laptop to continue her studies in India. Recognizing the transformative potential of technology in education and the arts, the Canadian Tamil Congress stepped forward to support Ashani’s journey. On the 21st of March, 2024, with the help of Hon. Mano Ganesan, Leader of the Tamil Progressive Alliance and Colombo district MP, a laptop was provided to Ashani. This is not just a tool; it’s a key to a realm of new possibilities, encouragement, growth, and learning for Ashani.

This gesture reflects our collective belief in the power of education. Nurturing talent should not be confined by one’s circumstances. We are deeply grateful to our generous donors, whose support not only empowers Ashani but also ignites hope and inspiration across communities.

இலங்கையின் மலையகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த திறமையான இளம் பாடகியான அஷானி கனகராஜின் கதையைப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்வதில் கனேடிய தமிழர் பேரவை மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறது. மட்டுப்படுத்தப்பட்ட வளங்கள் காரணமாக சவால்களை எதிர்கொள்ளும் அஷானியின் பயணம் அவரது உறுதியான வளர்ச்சிக்கு தடையாக அமைந்துவிடக்கூடாது.

இந்தியாவில் தனது மேற்படிப்பை தொடர்வதற்காக ஒரு மடிக்கணணியைப் பெற்றுத்தரும்படி அஷானி கோரியிருந்தார். கல்வியில் தொழில்நுட்பத்தின் அவசியத்தை அறிந்து கனடிய தமிழர் பேரவை அஷானியின் பயணத்திற்கு ஆதரவளிக்க முன்வந்தது. 2024 ஆம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் மாதம் 21 ஆம் திகதி தமிழ் முற்போக்குக் கூட்டணியின் தலைவரும் கொழும்பு மாவட்ட பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினருமான கெளரவ மனோ கணேசனின் உதவியுடன் அஷானிக்கு மடிக்கணினி வழங்கப்பட்டது. இது அஷானிக்கு கற்றல் நடவடிக்கைகளில் பயனுள்ளதாக இருப்பதோடு அவரது வளர்ச்சிக்கு ஊக்கமளிப்பதாகவும் இருக்கும் என நம்புகின்றோம்.
