Canadian Tamil Congress Celebrates a Successful Inaugural Canada Multicultural Day 2026
The Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) is proud to have successfully launched its inaugural Canada Multicultural Day on Sunday June 21, 2026. This landmark celebration brought together communities from diverse cultural backgrounds in a vibrant and meaningful showcase of unity, heritage, and shared identity of Canada.
The evening was filled with a lineup of performances representing cultures from around the world. Through music, dance, and artistic expression, attendees experienced the richness and beauty of global tradition all within one space. The energy and enthusiasm made it clear that this event resonated deeply with the communities.
Addressing the audience, Canadian Tamil Congress President Sritharan Thurairajah reflected on the significance of the occasion, stating, “Today, we are not just celebrating an event; we are celebrating Canada.” He further emphasized the importance of multicultural engagement, noting, “When we see different cultures on one stage, when we share food, music, and traditions together, we are not just watching performances. We are building understanding. We are building respect. We are building unity. That is why this event is important.”
Melinda Manlapaz, President of the Canadian Multicultural Council (CMC) – Asians in Ontario, expressed pride in partnering with the Canadian Tamil Congress to bring this meaningful celebration of diversity, inclusion, and cultural unity to the community.
Jean Yip, MP for Scarborough—Agincourt; Andrea Hazell, MPP for Scarborough—Guildwood; and David Smith, MPP for Scarborough Centre, attended the event and addressed the audience. Greetings from Shaun Chen, MP for Scarborough North was presented on stage during the celebration.
As an organization rooted in community building and cultural celebration, the Canadian Tamil Congress is honoured to create a platform that highlights Canada’s diversity while fostering inclusivity and mutual respect. This inaugural event marks a great beginning, setting the foundation for an even stronger and more impactful celebration in the years ahead.

கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை தனது முதலாவது ‘கனடா பன்முகத்தன்மை தின நிகழ்வை 2026 ஜூன் 21 ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை அன்று வெற்றிகரமாகத் தொடங்கியதில் பெருமிதம் கொள்கிறது. இந்த வரலாற்றுச் சிறப்புமிக்க கொண்டாட்டம் பல்வேறு கலாச்சாரப் பின்னணியைக் கொண்ட சமூகங்களை ஒன்றிணைத்து, கனடாவின் ஒற்றுமை, பாரம்பரியம் மற்றும் பகிரப்பட்ட அடையாளத்தை ஒரு துடிப்பான மற்றும் அர்த்தமுள்ள நிகழ்வாக வெளிப்படுத்தியது.
நிகழ்வின் மாலைப் பொழுது உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள பல்வேறு கலாச்சாரங்களைப் பிரதிபலிக்கும் கலை நிகழ்ச்சிகளுடன் கலைகட்டியது. இசை, நடனம் மற்றும் கலை வெளிப்பாடுகள் மூலம், உலகளாவிய பாரம்பரியங்களின் செழுமையையும் அழகையும் வருகை தந்திருந்தவர்கள் ஒரே இடத்தில் அனுபவித்தனர். மக்களின் ஆற்றலும் உற்சாகமும் இந்த நிகழ்வு சமூகங்களின் மத்தியில் எவ்வளவு ஆழமாகப் பதிந்துள்ளது என்பதைத் தெளிவுபடுத்தியது.
கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவையின் தலைவர் ஸ்ரீதரன் துரைராஜா அங்கு கூடியிருந்தவர்களிடையே உரையாற்றும்போது இந்த நிகழ்வின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை பிரதிபலித்தார். “இன்று, நாம் ஒரு நிகழ்வை மட்டும் கொண்டாடவில்லை; நாம் கனடாவைக் கொண்டாடுகிறோம்,” என்று அவர் கூறினார். பன்முகத்தன்மை ஈடுபாட்டின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை மேலும் வலியுறுத்திய அவர், “பல்வேறு கலாச்சாரங்களை ஒரே மேடையில் பார்க்கும்போது, நாம் உணவு, இசை மற்றும் பாரம்பரியங்களை ஒன்றாகப் பகிர்ந்து கொள்ளும்போது நாம் வெறும் நிகழ்ச்சிகளை மட்டும் ரசிக்கவில்லை. நாம் புரிதலைக் கட்டியெழுப்புகிறோம், மரியாதையை வளர்க்கிறோம், ஒற்றுமையை உருவாக்குகிறோம். அதனால்தான் இந்த நிகழ்வு முக்கியமானது” என்று குறிப்பிட்டார்.
கனடிய பன்முகத்தன்மை கவுன்சில் (CMC) ஒன்டாரியோவில் உள்ள ஆசியர்கள் அமைப்பின் தலைவர் மெலிண்டா மன்லபாஸ் பன்முகத்தன்மை, உள்ளடக்கம் மற்றும் கலாச்சார ஒற்றுமையின் இந்த அர்த்தமுள்ள கொண்டாட்டத்தை சமூகத்திற்குக் கொண்டு வர கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவையுடன் இணைந்ததில் பெருமிதம் கொள்வதாகத் தெரிவித்தார்.
ஸ்கார்பாரோ அஜின்கோர்ட் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் ஜீன் யிப்; ஸ்கார்பாரோ கில்ட்வுட் மாகாண நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் ஆண்ட்ரியா ஹேசல்; மற்றும் ஸ்கார்பாரோ சென்டர் மாகாண நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் டேவிட் ஸ்மித் ஆகியோர் இந்நிகழ்வில் கலந்து கொண்டு உரையாற்றினர். ஸ்கார்பாரோ நோர்த் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் ஷான் சென் அவர்களின் வாழ்த்துச் செய்தி கொண்டாட்டத்தின் போது மேடையில் வாசிக்கப்பட்டது.
சமூகக் கட்டமைப்பு மற்றும் கலாச்சாரக் கொண்டாட்டங்களை அடித்தளமாகக் கொண்ட ஓர் அமைப்பாக, கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை கனடாவின் பன்முகத்தன்மையை முன்னிலைப்படுத்தும் அதே வேளையில், உள்ளடக்கம் மற்றும் பரஸ்பர மரியாதையை வளர்க்கும் ஒரு தளத்தை உருவாக்கியதில் பெருமை கொள்கிறது. இந்தத் தொடக்க விழா ஒரு சிறந்த ஆரம்பத்தைக் குறிக்கிறது. இது வரும் ஆண்டுகளில் இன்னும் வலுவான மற்றும் தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும் கொண்டாட்டத்திற்கு அடித்தளமாக அமைகிறது.
இந்தச் சிறப்புமிக்க நாளைக் கொண்டாட எங்களுடன் இணைந்த எங்களது அனுசரணையாளர்களுக்கும், அனைத்து ஆதரவாளர்களுக்கும், தங்களின் கலாச்சாரம் மற்றும் கலைத்திறனைப் பகிர்ந்துகொண்ட திறமைமிக்க கலைஞர்களுக்கும், திரைக்குப் பின்னால் கடினமாக உழைத்த எங்களது அர்ப்பணிப்புள்ள தன்னார்வலர்களுக்கும், நிகழ்வைச் செழுமைப்படுத்திய வணிகர்களுக்கும் மற்றும் வருகை தந்திருந்த அனைவருக்கும் கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை தனது மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகளைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறது.

பல கலாச்சாரங்கள், மொழிகள் மற்றும் பாரம்பரியங்கள் இணைந்துதான் கனடாவை வலிமையான நாடாக மாற்றுகின்றன. இவற்றை பெருமைப்படுத்தும் விதமாக கனடிய தமிழர் பேரவையின் ஏற்பாட்டில் ஜூன் 21, 2026 அன்று நடைபெறும் “கனடா பன்முகத்தன்மை தின கொண்டாட்டத்தில் அனைவரும் கலந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.
