On May 3rd 2026, the Honourable Isabelle Martin, Canada’s High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, visited the Canada Batticaloa Friendship Farm (Kail T. Rajah Project) one of the many initiatives of the Canadian Tamil Congress (CTC) focused on creating employment opportunities and advancing sustainable economic development in the North and East of Sri Lanka.

During her visit, the High Commissioner took a keen interest in the traditional ties between the Tamil people and Moringa cultivation, as well as the farm’s focus on natural, organic farming practices.

During this visit High Commissioner Martin expressed her appreciation for this project and also commended the CTC for its ongoing efforts in women’s empowerment.

The Canadian Tamil Congress remains committed to fostering sustainable economic growth and long-term development in the homeland.

மே 3ஆம் திகதி, இலங்கை மற்றும் மாலைதீவுக்கான கனடிய உயர்ஸ்தானிகர் மேதகு இசபெல் மார்ட்டின் (Isabelle Martin) அவர்கள் ‘கனடா மட்டக்களப்பு நட்புறவுப் பண்ணைக்கு’ (Canada Batticaloa Friendship Farm) விஜயம் ஒன்றை மேற்கொண்டார். இலங்கையின் வடக்கு மற்றும் கிழக்கு மாகாணங்களில் வேலைவாய்ப்புகளை உருவாக்குவதற்கும், நிலையான பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சியை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கும் கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை (CTC) முன்னெடுத்துள்ள பல திட்டங்களில் இந்தப் பண்ணையும் ஒன்றாகும்.

இந்த விஜயத்தின் போது, உயர்ஸ்தானிகர் அவர்கள் தமிழ் மக்களுக்கும் முருங்கைச் செய்கைக்கும் இடையிலான பாரம்பரிய உறவு மற்றும் பண்ணையின் இயற்கை விவசாய முறைகள் குறித்து மிகுந்த ஆர்வம் காட்டினார்.
இந்தத் திட்டத்தைப் பாராட்டிய உயர்ஸ்தானிகர், பெண்களின் வலுவூட்டலுக்காக கனடிய தமிழர் பேரவை முன்னெடுத்து வரும் பணிகளையும் வெகுவாகப் பாராட்டினார்.

தாயகத்தின் நிலையான பொருளாதார வளர்ச்சி மற்றும் நீண்டகால முன்னேற்றத்திற்காகக் கனடியத் தமிழர் பேரவை தொடர்ந்தும் அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயற்பட்டு வருகின்றது.
